The Overthinking Coach

Support to help you manage every-day overthinking

What is Overthinking?

Overthinking is common, there are times when we all do it.

But what is it?

The key features of overthinking are:

  • The going over or coming back to the same situation, repeatedly, dwelling on things, unable to them shake off.

  • Thoughts are often concerned with:

a. Future consequences of a situation -

what could happen.

b. Alternative paths you could / should have taken -

questioning of your choices or actions.

Signs & Symptoms

Even though overthinking is common it can become overwhelming and lead to:

  • Difficulty sleeping: Either early waking or difficulty falling asleep.

  • Poor concentration: Thoughts can be intrusive, popping up when they are not wanted and difficult to get away from.

  • Feeling irritable or on edge.

  • Seeking reassurance: Going over the situation with other people to get their opinion.
